Documents to Keep in Your Car

IMG_5600

It’s important to be responsibly prepared when driving, so what important documents should you have in your car?

  • Owner’s manual
  • Your driver’s license (keep this stowed in your wallet)
  • Your vehicle registration
    • Keep copies in your wallet and at home as well
  • Proof of insurance
    • Keep copies in your wallet and at home as well
  • Emergency contacts (Download an ICE – in case of emergency – card from AAA here)
    • Keep copies in your wallet and at home as well
  • Your car’s maintenance schedule & MPG records
    • App: Fuelly (Track your MPG, calculate fuel costs, and set maintenance reminders)
  • Maps (Hard copies)
  • Pen and notepad

Place your registration and insurance documents in an envelope or small folder and store  in your glove box. Do not keep the vehicle title in the car – put this in a safe place in your home – and keep maintenance records at home as well.

Happy prepared driving!
