- 1/3 cup aloe vera gel
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin coconut oil
- A few drops of essential oils of your choice (ex: lavender, jasmine, rose, vanilla) *I will not be using this ingredient as we don’t have essential oils
Mix the coconut oil and aloe vera in a bowl. Whisk the mixture for 5-10 minutes until whipped into a light, fluffy and airy consistency. Transfer the whipped mixture into a glass container and store at room temperature. The lotion will last for several weeks.
Jared and I use aloe vera gel A LOT for dry & irritated skin, especially in winter. I found this mixture whilst looking for rosacea natural remedies, and since we always have aloe vera gel and coconut oil on hand, I thought we’d give it a try. According to reviews, this lotion feels a lot lighter on the skin as opposed to using coconut oil only, and it’s best to apply this lotion after bathing.
